Ali Modu Sheriff is new acting national chairman of PDP

Fresh reports reaching Naij.com have it that Ali Modu Sheriff, one of the alleged sponsors of Boko Haram, is the new acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). UPDATE: The appointment of a former governor of Borno State as the new chairman of the opposition PDP was officially confirmed by its National Executive Committee. According to Premium Times, Metuh said the decision would be communicated to the Board of Trustees and subsequently, the National Executive Committee (NEC) for ratification before a formal announcement would be made. Earlier in the day, it was reported that there were moves by governors and chieftains of the PDP to name erstwhile chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, as the next chairman of the party.
