President Muhammadu Buhari has assured Nigerians that none of the 774 local government areas in Nigeria is under the control of the Boko Haram sect

A few days ago, Senator Baba Kaka Garbai representing Borno Central district claimed that
Garbai said that only three LGAs are safe from the terrorists for now, stressing that the assumption that most of the local governments in the state have been recaptured from Boko Haram is not true.
However, speaking at a joint briefing with his German counterpart, Joachim Guack, President Buhari stated that the senator’s position was incorrect.
He also called for the support of Germany to make sure Nigeria emerges a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
Guack, in his turn, pledged more support of his country towards defeat of Boko Haram.
Kashim Shettima, the governor of Borno state, had earlier also  in the state.
“In the past, Boko Haram used to come in commando styles to attack, seize, occupy
communities and hold residents hostage and then administer territories, that is occupation. We no longer have that in Borno. None of the 27 local government areas is being occupied by Boko Haram,” the governor said.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Idris, the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), has commended the Nigerian army for the success recorded in the war against insurgency.
PR Nigeria reports that the AGF also pledged the continued support and cooperation of the treasury office under his leadership to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukuru  Burutai, and the entire army.
Praising Buratai for his sterling leadership qualities, Idris noted that the army achieved so much within the short time of his tenure in office.
Speaking about the  partnership between the Treasury House and the army, Idris explained that the treasury has been cooperating with the Nigerian army by ensuring that all their duly allocated funds are promptly released.

According to him, this has helped the soldiers to remain in high spirits to win the war against insurgency.
